Tom Baker (4th Doctor) came pretty close and also was one of the best Doctors along with David Tennant. Doctor Who is coming back in November with "Waters of Mars" the second of the specials. But this Thursday and Friday (Sarah Jane Adventunes) David will be making a guest appearance if you want to watch that which I personally will highly reccomend (he is playing the Doctor..). The new Doctor is Matt Smith. He will be starting as the Doctor 2010 with Karen Gillian (Fires of Pompeii.. remember her? you wouldn't..) anyway so she's going to be the assistant. :) xx Not quite sure on David Tennant being in more episodes than the other Doctors.
