New promotional pictures and a short 1 minute trailer of the ‘first’ or ‘fifth’ series have been released of Matt Smith and Karen Gillian and giving us a sneak preview of what to expect in the new series of Doctor Who. As we already know there are many new changes to be expected and one of these things is how the show is going to be advertised, the new trailer is to be shown in 3D in selected cinemas and films in the UK.
The new trailer is set up like the time vortex as the Doctor and Amy Pond lie down and look at the stars deciding where to go next. The grass they are laid on begins to light up and suddenly they find themselves falling through the vortex seeing all the deadly monsters such as the Weeping Angels and Daleks they are up to face in the new series. Many people have been quite reserved with their opinions about the new trailer though as they think that having a 1 minute trailer not been show in 3D on televisions but instead in cinemas is like a demonstration of what they could be doing but insteead aren’t with the technology they have been given. However, many fans such as ourselves are excited for the new series and even the shortest of trailers is enough to keep us sated with a hunger for the new series.
The new series will be kicking off with the ‘Eleventh hour’ which will be a 60 minute special to be shown on Saturday April 3rd and for American fans it will be shown on Saturday April 17th, 2010 on BBC America.
