Continued Updation

x

This is a continued section from the last post so please read that before reading this post. Yes, it contains more spoilers so discretion is advised. Some people may not want to read this as it contains highly emotional subjects from a television show many consider to have been ruined.

As well as Sarah Jane adventures being new I haven’t posted since Torchwood: Children of Earth. It is a rather depressing affair so if you don’t want to read about it I advise you don’t, I still can’t watch some episodes without breaking down in tears.

Summary of Torchwood: Children of Earth

Torchwood: Children of Earth is the third series of the spin off of the major television show Doctor Who. As a new concept rather than the previous two series it was shown on BBC 1 in a five day story continuing on a cliffhanger left on the previous days episode. The basics of the story is an alien race known as the 456 as the wavelength they travel on are trying to take planet Earths children. They stop the children at various times and posess them making them all say “We. We are. We are coming” an awful lot throughout the series. Eventually we get to learn the children are needed by the 456 as a form of drugs. Jack was involved in giving 12 children over in a previous occasion when the aliens came and now the came back wanting more. On Day 4 of the series a beloved, treasured and well loved member of the Torchwood team died – Ianto Jones (be in denial like me, he’s still alive really). Jack can’t cope and the last day leaves after killing his grandson to save all of the children, this basically makes the 456 leave and a Captain wanting to get off Earth Sol: 3 because he kept seeing ghosts. If you were him I could name a few.. Torchwood might not be coming back, I doubt this along with most fans as the show is too profitable to just be killed.

New Doctor, New TARDIS, New logo, New Assistant

Well there is a lot of “new” for you! Well not as much new as in New, New, New, New, New, New, New, New York on New, New, New, New, New, New Earth I suppose. Well anyway, everybody really knows how the new Doctor is Matt Smith so I don’t think I have to put this under a spoiler tag after the information a television shows surrounding it I can say the information is already out there. As well as Matt Smith being the new Doctor he is coming with a familiar face to the world of “Who” in the form of the new companion Karen Gillian! You may remember her (if you were looking closely) as one of the Sisterhood in the episode “The Fires of Pomaii”. After filming pictures have been released we now know the TARDIS is to be given a good old lick of paint (still blue) making the old lass brighter or darker, however you want to put it. As well as all of these new bringings we also have a new Doctor Who logo as shown in the picture on the left, which has been cleverly designed encorporating the letters “DW” into the shape of the TARDIS. But is all of this changing a good thing? Is there too much in the form of changing coming to our television show? Well everyone has different ideas on the matter at the moment, for us to truely know and understand if these changes are good we will have to wait until the 11th Doctor is brought to our screens in the end of an era for our beloved Tennant. To find out more about the new development and changes please click on the new Doctor Who logo which links to the BBC’s Doctor Who website where you can download it as a wallpaper and find new information about the series and new specials.

IMPORTANT

David Tennant in the Sarah Jane Adventures will be continuing on BBC 1 tonight at 4:35 pm in what can be expected to be an exhilerating story with a few laughs along the way. Make sure you watch it in support of our Tennant as there isn’t much time he has left as the Doctor and we want every second of his journey to count.

Thankyou for reading,

Site Updation, SJA etc.

Unfortunately I have been experiencing technical difficulty recently in the form of being without internet at school (how have I lived!) and not having enough time to update the site. There have been lots of new things to discuss on the website and I plan on updating the website and making it to its full potential (this includes a new graphics theme I plan to base on David Tennant).

Getting down to business, the Sarah Jane Adventures is back on television with a two-part special episode featuring none other than the utterly amazing David Tennant. The series started on 15th October 2009 kicking off with an episode featuring the intergalactic police the Judoon. For a complete list of the new Series 3 episodes (including parts) see below: -

Episode List

  • Prisoner of the Judoon (15th – 16th October 2009)
  • The Mad Woman in the Attic (22nd – 23rd October 2009)
  •  The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith (29th - 30th October 2009)
  • The Eternity Trap (5th – 6th November 2009)
  • Mona Lisa’s Revenge (12th – 13th November 2009)
  • The Gift (19th – 20th November 2009)

This section may contain spoilers, please read with your own discretion and I advise you watch the episode before reading.

Link to Part 1 of the episode (which is available for 1 week, UK only) – http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00nlx9r/b00nlx66/The_Sarah_Jane_Adventures_Series_3_The_Wedding_of_Sarah_Jane_Smith_Part_1/

David Tennant will be making his guest appearance in “The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith” starring in the end of the episode attempting to stop the wedding from the con set up by the evil Trickster.

 Brief summary of the episode

Sarah Jane Smith has been going away from the house numerous times without Rani, Luke or Clyde knowing where she is going. On the fifth time, with another bad excuse, the three of them decide to investigate to find out if she was going “alien hunting” without them. Instead of what they expect to find, with K9 and Mr Smith’s help, they find out she isn’t conspiring against them but dating a wealthy man named Peter. They decide to respect Sarah’s wishes and not mention any of their knowledge of Peter. Mr Smith however continues tracking Sarah so Sarah finds out and K9 helps the children but then tells all of the information over. Sarah isn’t angry and is in love with Peter. Peter comes over to see Sarah but Rani, Clyde and Gita decide they want to be nosey so take a look at Peter and successfully stop an awkward situation with K9 an alien and a nasty parcel (really don’t want to go into that). Sarah, Luke and Peter go out on a meal and all get along making jokes etc. A  while later Peter and Sarah admit their love for each other and Peter proposes. Meanwhile Clyde has been investigating Peter with Rani finding he lives in an empty house and Clyde has a suspicion that he isn’t all he seems to be. Clyde tells Sarah of his suspicions but Sarah’s wedding ring has been tampered with (Trickster/Peter no doubt, information is still to be confirmed in tomorrows episode) and Sarah closes Mr Smith stopping his functions. Clyde is given K9 by Sarah and looks after him and ends up taking him to Sarah and Peter’s rushed wedding which they decided would commence in 2 weeks time after the proposal. Everything runs smoothly except Peter has no family claiming he was the last one (it’s SJA and only Clyde is a smidgey bit suspicious –  I mean c’mon..) and Sarah has nobody to walk her up the aisle so wanted Luke (well she said the Doctor .. who wouldn’t.. but apparently Luke is more reliable, true also) to walk her instead. Sarah walks down the aisle but  Clyde sneakily is with K9 checking for alien activity but there wasn’t any, t’was normal so they carried on with the woman vicar saying “does anyone object to them wedding” or something like that.. Then BAM  Doctor comes in to save the day but doesn’t, Trickster cons Sarah and the trailer for the next episode comes on..

SQUEEEEEEEEEEE! (I know, just had to get it out of my system.)

I really loved the episode and think it was structured and written well. Having K9 back into the episodes brings back a whole load of memories and makes the story have comedy with him trying to “play nicely” with Mr Smith, one of the best scenes in SJA ever written. Gareth Roberts has never disappointed with fantastic stories with added humour and my type of snark. This along with “Prisoner of the Judoon” are possibly my favourite SJA episodes so far, the new style of the series is amazing.

Note to the producers – if you ever can see it possible can you bring back Maria Jackson, I loved her character she seemed so relatable and human and I slightly prefer her to Rani but having them both would be brilliant.

2009 Specials etc.

Hello!

New info for 2009! Ok so on Saturday night we got to see Planet of the Dead which was the first of the four upcoming specials to lead to the exit of David Tennant as the 10th regeneration of the Doctor. The next special entitled “The Waters of Mars” is due to be shown in Autumn time. Other news from the Whoniverse includes the release of Doctor Who spin-off show Torchwood having its third series “Children of the Earth” a five day spectacular to be shown in summer time.

Planet of the Dead reviewed by anna.

This review contains MAJOR spoilers, read at your own free will.

Planet of the Dead was an exhilarating, exciting new adventure starring Michelle Ryan as Christina, Lee Evans as Malcolm and of course David Tennant as the 10th Doctor.

The beginning of the episode starts with a ‘Mission Impossible’ style theft with Lady Christina stealing a heavily guarded gold cup from a museum. She then escapes watching the Doctor being taken captive on suspicion of stealing the cup and chuckles to herself and quickly departs from the scene. She then rushes to get onto the number 200 bus to quickly get away, but is spotted by police so pays with her diamond earrings and is quickly followed on by the Doctor. I admit that after watching this start I was quite apprehensive to the beginning as I didn’t want it to end up being one of ‘those’ episodes. Although as the episode progressed I ended up loving it completly.

Quick summary of my opinion:

I absolutely loved Christina! Such a great character and a great opposition to the Doctor having them similar yet so different in so many ways. Her daredevil theif side related to the old who eps with the robot and stealing the TARDIS. I didn’t really see the need for the kiss in there but that was just me I suppose *evil eyes at Russell*

Malcolm is just the best character out of the entire episode and I need more Malcolm! I love you! I LOVE YOOOU!!  I love how he worships the Doctor and everything he does to him getting annoyed when he hung up on him then doing exactly the same to the Doctor making him annoyed. The way he stood up to the UNIT captain for the Doctor also make me regard him as being a stronger character than previously concieved.

Shame that the Doctor didn’t take Malcolm with him now that would have been an interesting twist. I was very suprised he didn’t take Christina with him as I think she would have been an amazing companion and if she was to ever return I would look forward to it.

I think the two men who were recommended for UNIT (forgot their names whoops) will play a crucial role in episodes to come as I heard something about Martha and UNIT coming back for one of the specials (can’t remember the source sorry).

The Master reference for “He will knock four times” was an obvious reference with me screaming it at the TV. *whoops sorry family*. Made me really look forward to the future specials to come.

The last teaser for the next special looks interesting.. Can’t quite make up if I like the looks of it or not.

The Waters of Mars

The Waters of Mars” will be the second special of British science fiction television series Doctor Who broadcast in 2009, following the episode “Planet of the Dead“. According to Doctor Who writer and producer Russell T Davies, the special will be closely linked to the final two but is not the first part of a three-part story. Davies expects the special to air around November.

The story is set on Mars and the Doctor will be joined by a new companion named Adelaide, played by Lindsay Duncan. Producer Nikki Wilson (née Smith) described the character as “the Doctor’s cleverest and most strong-minded companion yet Peter O’Brien and Sharon Duncan Brewster also have roles in the special.

Filming for the special began on 23 February 2009 In late February, David Tennant, Duncan and other actors were seen filming in Victoria Place, Newport.[10] The filming took place on a city street, which the production team covered with artificial snow. Also present during filming were a small robot inscribed with the word “GADGET” and Ood Sigma, from the 2008 episode “Planet of the Ood“.

A 30-second teaser trailer for this episode aired after the broadcast of “Planet of the Dead“.

Eleventh Doctor.

Yep. You guessed it. The next doctor has been announced and I would have never guessed who it would be. MATT SMITH is now the Eleventh Doctor and at a guess David will regenerate into him in the Christmas Special  2009. I will really miss David as I am sure many other fans out there will do and will probably shed a lot of tears this Christmas.

If you think you recognise him you probably do! Matt has been with Billie Piper (Rose Tyler)

Doctor Who: The Christmas Special (2008) etc.

Hello Fellow Whovians,

Season 4 of Doctor Who has now finished but all of the action hasn’t finished yet! Sarah Jane Adventures is on in September and the advertisments have already started to air so keep watching to get as many spoilers as possible. But for Doctor Who we can expect a Christmas Special as every year with the enemies we didn’t get to see the last to years could it be anyone else but the cybermen. Our Doctor David Tennant will star alongside Dervla Kirwan,  Velile Tshabalala and David Morrissey.

Replacing David Tennant:

The bookies favorite for replacing David Tennant is David Morrissey a English Actor. Now I don’t want David to leave and if the bookies are right we will have an ugly doctor. Pray that the bookies are wrong everyone!

New Layout Coming Soon.
